Recreating Mission was an early digital preservation project focused on transforming a real-world location into an interactive 3D experience. The project recreated Mission Middle School inside Apple's Reality Composer, turning a familiar physical environment into a digital model that could be explored, shared, and experienced in new ways.

The project began with a simple goal: recreate a place that held significance and transform it into something that could exist beyond its physical boundaries. Through planning, photography, mapping, and 3D construction, the project developed from an initial idea into a complete digital representation of the campus.

Creating the model required a combination of research, technical development, and creative problem-solving. The process involved studying the campus layout, collecting hundreds of reference images, organizing architectural information, and constructing individual buildings and environments using 3D modeling tools. Each element was carefully developed to capture the identity and structure of the original location.

Beyond the model itself, Recreating Mission explored the importance of documenting and sharing creative work. A dedicated website was created to showcase the project, explain the development process, and provide public access to different versions of the completed experience. By sharing both the final result and the process behind it, the project became more than a recreation—it became a record of how an idea evolved into a finished creation.
